Simple Fix to Aid Dry Winter Skin

Winter, time for dry heat, wool socks, dehydration and dry skin. No worries, here are a few methods I stick to in the cold months that really help keep scaly dry skin gone!

  1. Drink at least 48 ounces of water a day. Thats only 6 glasses a day, 2 of which should be consumed as soon as you wake up to replenish the loss of fluids while you sleep. 8-10 glasses is where you want to work up to.

  2. Use pure food-grade oil, such as sesame, avocado, jojoba, grapeseed or coconut oil on your skin, head to toe, do this fresh out of the warm shower daily. If your hair is dry apply the oil from the ends to scalp, place a plastic bag around your head and leave in over night. When you wash out your hair and dry the next day you will feel super soft hair shafts and reduced frizz.

  3. Take daily oils internally, such as a spoonful or two of coconut, flax or evening primrose oil.

  4. Sleep with an aromatherapy vaporizer, nightly by your bed, add essential oils to kill bacteria and fight virus's.

  5. At least once a week take a warm epson salt bath for 20 minutes, do a natural body scrub, rinse and apply body oil generously.
